Lone Traveller

Im quite inspired by a certain someone who told me about his first hand experience at travelling to various parts of India all by himself on a quest for self discovery. He calls it travel therapy and swears by the fact that it works!
Here's how it works - Pack your essentials and leave. No bookings, no iternary, no plan. Just go with the flow, go where you feel like going.
For a change travel to a place where you want to go, not where you have to go.......

What a woman wants in a man?

Well a person could earn a doctorate degree while researching on this subject, and yet he wouldn't be able to list down five universal characteristics that would make a woman want a man. However, an article in Times Life today by a certain Vinita Nangia (hope the name's right) has very well captured the essence of what a woman looks for in a man. And I couldn't agree more. According to her article, women are attracted to men who are attracted to her first and verbally express the effect their women have on them. And come to think of it, it really holds true. Looking at my track record, I've always liked men who were attracted to me first. More like, all the guys I've fallen for were head over heels in love with me first.
So all the guys who think women are too difficult to figure out, can take a tip or two from the article. It really works!

Ally McBeal

'Sometimes, when one holds out for everything, he walks away with nothing.'
Quite a statement, and so true. When you see some couples, wherein the girl is gorgeous and the guy is just an average joe, you wonder how on earth did a woman like that go for a guy like that! And then you realise that you cant walk around with a checklist, and only go out with a guy who gets a tick in all boxes in the list. And then that line from Ally Mc Beal starts making sense and you realise its time to exit from fairytale and enter reality.
But then, Harry a character from the series also asked " Should I marry someone not because she is the one, but because she is the only one."
And it makes me think, lets hold on to the fairytale a little longer......

Rani Mukherjee & Aditya Chopra geting engaged?

The reigning queen of Bollywood, Rani Mukherjee could've got any man she desired. Yet she went fora married, average looking, but mr. moneybags Aditya Chopra. Aren't there any other rich but unmarried industrialists/ sports persons/ filmstars left in the world? From a population of billions, she had to pick Aditya Chopra and in the process, cause devastation in his marital life.

Rani Mukherjee was not the first one though. Bollywood leading ladies have always fancied married men. Whether it was Nargis who fell for Raj Kapoor, Hema Malini falling for Dharmendra, Sangeeta Bijlani for Azzharudin, or Rekha for Amitabh. What is it about married men that makes them so irresistible for these women? Forbidden fruit is yummier, is it !

Pratibha Patil, Who?

The most hyped candidate for the presidency elections is Ms. Pratibha Patil, the current governer of Rajasthan who has suddenly popped into the limelight thanks to Congress aka Sonia Gandhi.
Pratibha Patil suddenly has a lot of support in the form of Shiv Sena, Congress, etc etc.

It's great that we might finally have a woman president. But is it fair to compromise on the quality of the candidate just for the sake of uplifting the status of women (which may I add, I think is very superficial). A president is more like a ambassador of India to other countries. As a part of his/her job the president needs to visit various countries on official purposes. At such global events, she will be India's representative to the world. Can we allow a woman who is so media shy to actually represent India at a global platform. Dr. APJ Kalam was a class apart. A perfect ambassador to the world. I'm sure Ms. Pratibha Patil must be very intelligent, but its high time she displayed it to the public too!
